Karen Dove (she, her)
Executive Director
Karen’s role as Executive Director is to plan and execute the overall strategic and operational responsibility for ANEW’s staff, programs, expansion and execution of its mission. Karen comes to ANEW from Montana where she led programs and advocated for policies focused on building economic security for all. She is a dedicated servant leader and has a passion for social justice issues. She is also committed to developing collaborative partnerships resulting in systemic change. Throughout her career, she has utilized her entrepreneurial spirit and skills to create and implement new and innovative programs aimed at moving people toward family wage jobs.
Karen is a published author and when not serving her community, she likes to spend time on the beach. She counts her three children as her proudest accomplishments.
Mark Clark (he, him)
Director of Development
Mark is a nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience in development, strategic partnerships, and community engagement. Originally from Virginia, he brings a deep commitment to equity and systems change, with a focus on creating pathways for economic mobility in underrepresented communities.
He has worked across both national and community-based organizations, leading major gifts strategies, securing seven-figure funding for advocacy and social impact initiatives, and building cross-sector partnerships rooted in trust and long-term impact.
Mark holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Washington.
Aidan Rosenbam (he, him)
Human Resources Manager
As the Human Resources Manager at ANEW, Aidan draws from his experience in operational management and interpersonal relations to support ANEW in all areas of People Operations and Employee Relations.
The time-tested expertise in Human Resource Management that Aidan brings helps ANEW carry out its mission of “Building People, Building Communities.” Aidan is incredibly passionate about improving our communities and ensuring that everyone, regardless of barriers, has the resources and support necessary to be successful, pursue happiness, and provide for themselves and their loved ones.
In his spare time, Aidan enjoys playing indoor lacrosse for the Tacoma Tritons and attending concerts and shows. Aidan loves talking to others, making friends, and uplifting those around him!
Melissa Reyes (she, her)
Accounting & Grants Specialist
Melissa’s journey to Washington from Iowa was sparked by her love for the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, she started out in the financial services and insurance industries. Eventually, her desire to help others led her into human resources, where she enjoyed supporting people from all walks of life and helping create a welcoming, inclusive workplace.
Now in her role as an Accounting and Grants Specialist at ANEW, Melissa continues to find meaning in mission-driven work. She enjoys digging into numbers, analyzing data, and making sure the organization’s financial systems are set up to support its long-term success. Thanks to her background in both HR and finance, she brings a thoughtful mix of accuracy and empathy to everything she does, helping the organization grow while keeping people at the center of the mission.
Outside of work, you’ll often find Melissa spending time with family and friends, exploring new places, or trying out new restaurants and recipes. She also loves to read and write as a way to relax and stay creative.
Kina Cruz (she, her)
Administrative Assistant
Originally from California and raised in Washington, Kina holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Her diverse background includes experiences ranging from working as a waitress to serving as a therapist. Although new to the non-profit sector, she takes pleasure in creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all ANEW guests.
Outside of her work at ANEW, Kina is a passionate photographer and a proud dog mom.
Blake Ingram (he, him)
Director of Programs
Blake is an executive leader in workforce development and instruction who has led organizational initiatives in access, equity, performance accountability and improvement, and strategic planning in the Washington Community & Technical College system. He is a results-oriented professional with comprehensive experience in training and grant management.
With a proven record of fostering customer and student-centered service approaches, he excels in overseeing initiatives that optimize program operations, recruitment, training and support services. Blake values effective communication, curiosity, integrity, and problem-solving.
He is experienced at navigating complex stakeholder landscapes and aligning institutional goals with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.
Outside of work, Blake enjoys spending time with loved ones, reading, biking and hiking throughout the northwest. He has an eclectic taste in music but particularly enjoys live jazz performances in the Seattle & Portland area.
Kerry Brothers (he, him)
Lead Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor
Kerry has over a decade of experience as a STEM Instructional and Training Leader, working with adults and students of all ages to implement training programs that build problem-solvers, critical and creative thinkers, and strong team members. In addition to his training leadership role, he spent 12 years as a carpenter in residential and light commercial construction. Wanting to advance into commercial trades and become a union member, Kerry joined the ANEW PACE Program as a pre-apprentice member of Cohort 28. The training team’s passion for the trades, the students, and the successes of ANEW graduates securing careers in the construction trades inspired Kerry to become part of ANEW and its amazing, high-quality training program. He is now a member of Laborers Local 242 and has been working in the training department at ANEW for two and a half years.
Mandy Richardson (she, her)
Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor
Mandy is a journeywoman carpenter who began her career with a four-year apprenticeship through the Northwest Carpenters’ Institute. She then went on to work in construction for six years before joining ANEW as an instructor. Now, Mandy teaches pre-apprenticeship students how to be successful in their trade. In her free time, Mandy enjoys spending time with her young daughter and reading.
Of her work with ANEW, Mandy says: “When you’re on a construction site, the most important accessory is your toolbelt: You need the right tool for the job—and that includes having the right mindset for it. That’s why my goal as an instructor is to give my students the correct tools they need to thrive in this industry, both mentally and physically.”
Kevin Ormsby (he, him)
Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor
A native Washingtonian, Kevin brings nearly 40 years of construction experience in the Pacific Northwest. He is excited to expose the next generation at ANEW to the value of the construction trades and share his passion for carpentry.
Outside of work, Kevin enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as kayaking and swimming in the Puget Sound—rain or shine.
Ade Valadez (he, him)
Math Instructor
Prior to joining the team at ANEW, Ade graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication while simultaneously working in customer service.
Eager to expand his knowledge and acquire new skills in the trades, Ade took a pivotal step by becoming a part of the ANEW PACE Program, joining Cohort 38 as a pre-apprentice member. In this immersive program, Ade had the opportunity to engage with a diverse group of peers and proudly took on the role of designated math tutor, providing consistent support and guidance to his fellow classmates.
This experience was transformative, as Ade discovered his genuine calling: empowering others through education. After successfully completing the ANEW PACE Program, Ade’s remarkable journey came full circle when he was invited to join the ANEW team as the math instructor. He is beyond excited to support future students.

Douglas Webster (he, him)
Pre-Apprenticeship Program Manager
Born and raised in Washington State, Douglas has dedicated the past year to working with ANEW, where he is passionate about helping individuals obtain careers in the construction trades. He focuses on guiding students through the professional development side of their journey, ensuring they are equipped with everything they need for employment success.
Before joining ANEW, Douglas spent three years working with students in the Bonney Lake School District, holding various roles such as substitute teacher, librarian, and IT specialist. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from Pierce College.
Outside of work, Douglas enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to concerts, snowboarding, camping, and coaching. In his role as Lead Pre-Apprenticeship Program Manager, he is dedicated to preparing students with the skills and connections necessary to thrive in the trades.
Ashley Ahumada (she, her)
Pre-Apprenticeship Program Coordinator
Born and raised in Washington, Ashley has demonstrated her commitment to education and career development by working for the school district as a paraeducator in both the general education and special education programs. To continue her work in education, Ashley has also worked with the carpenter’s pre-apprenticeship program. This initiative not only reflects her dedication to hands-on learning but also highlights her belief in the importance of vocational training and skill development for all.
Outside of the professional realm, Ashley enjoys spending time with family and friends, paddle boarding, and interior design. She continues to inspire and empower her students, ensuring that they have the tools and support necessary to thrive academically and personally.

Trades Education Pre-Apprenticeship Instructor
CJ was born in Long Beach, CA, and raised in Spanaway, WA. He has been a part of the Laborers Union Local 242 for several years and has also been the head coach for tackle football for 8 years. CJ is very excited to be part of the ANEW program to give youth and adults the opportunity and knowledge to be part of the construction world that he has been blessed to be a part of.
CJ has a beautiful wife of 7 years and 3 wonderful children. In his free time, he enjoys participating in outdoor activities (camping, fishing, lake/river days), traveling, group gatherings, working on projects around his house, coaching, watching professional sports, and watching his children compete in various sports.
